According to Wikipedia, a meme is, generally speaking, any faddish popular phenomenon on the Internet. Calling everything a "meme" is, apparently, itself a meme. I personally find all this meme-ing to be somewhat annoying. People generally don't walk around the planet calling everything a meme. I wager that if you walk up to someone on a street anywhere but Silicon Valley and talk about a meme, the person won't have a clue what you are talking about and will probably back slowly away from you clutching his or her wallet or purse. I guess all this meme-calling is harmless, and I won't go on a rant if you meme me, but it seems like we managed to survive, even thrive, for centuries without the meme. I personally look forward to the day when calling everything a meme is no longer a meme and we can all live meme-free. Until then, I will take comfort in the fact that it's only a meme and, like other meme's before, it will eventually fade into oblivion like so much unread BACN.

I don't know either but that was pretty hilarious.
Thanks for your comment. It's getting bad when I have to work "the Google" to understand "the Internets".
