The onboard screen keyboard works pretty well for light typing while using Sambutu without having a USB keyboard attached, but it's not ideal for two reasons. One is that they keyboard is too big. It takes up the entire screen so you have to position the cursor text field, then unhide the keyboard, type in text, then hide keyboard to see what you typed. I'm getting pretty good at this with some practice, but a smaller onscreen keyboard would be better. Any suggestions?
A more bothersome issue is what to do when I need to respond to dialogue boxes that don't fit on the 800 x 480 screen. I posted about a work-around to this problem that works great with a keyboard attached. I just need to hold the ALT key and drag the dialogue box with the mouse while holding the left mouse button. I haven't found a way to do this using the onscreen keyboard or touchscreen. Is there another work-around to this issue that I should try?
I'm extremely happy with the experience of using Ubuntu on the Samsung Q1 so far. I have very little technical background for this, but there are so many helpful resources on the Internet. It is fun to discover new ways to interact with my computer. I hope that you find these posts helpful in furthering your own exploration of Linux powered mobile devices.
"Taxman" is the name of a great Beatles song and it goes with my career as a CPA. I'm also a musician (if a guitar player can claim to be a musician). I love computers, especially Macs and Tablet PCs and all things gadgets.
