Hugh Sung is my Hero: The AirTurn

If you are a musician and you don't know about Hugh Sung, you are missing out. Hugh Sung is a classical musician with a thing for tablet PC's. He's a pioneer in using Tablet PC technology and now Netbooks as platforms for organizing and annotating classical music scores and for using these devices as a virtual music stand during performances. Over the years, Hugh has improvised different devices to turn pages. You can read all about Hugh's music and technology applications at www.hughsung.com. I bring all this up because I became very excited about a product that Hugh introduced called the AirTurn. I actually owe thanks to Mike Cane for posting a link about AirTurn on Twitter.

AirTurn is a wireless page turning device that plugs into a Boss footswitch and provides hands-free page turning for music. When used with another product called Musicreader, I am able to scan in PDF's of all my music and prayers for Sunday worship onto my HP2710P tablet PC and page through them using a footswitch during worship. With these two products, I'm always on the right page and I don't have a music stand full of loose papers to deal with. I tried it for the first time live in Worship today, and it worked flawlessly. Hugh is using this configuration with both a Tablet and a Netbook. Visit the links above for more info. I'm not paid to endorse this in any way. I'm just sharing something that worked for me.
